[singlepic=673,250,250,left]The 2008 Asia Song Festival is definitely going to be held from October 3 to 5 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. They couldn’t have picked a better date. IMO, October is the best month to visit Korea. The song festival now has its own website where fans can get the latest news and download or apply for tickets.
I need to get a ticket for this event since Rivermaya will be there! (Oh well, I wouldn’t mind if Rico Blanco won’t be there.)
The performers for the 3-day affair are: TVXQ (DBSK), Girls Generation or 소녀시대 (so-nyo shi-dae) and newcomer SHINee from Korea; w-inds, ICE and Berryz Kobo from Japan; Andon Hu and Ho Quyng Huong (China); Fahrenheit (Taiwan); Karen Mok (Hong Kong); Rivermaya (Philippines); Agnes Monica (Indonesia).
To be honest, I don’t know most of the performers so I probably won’t miss anything if I don’t go. I just remembered too that our midterm exams will start on the 6th of October. So there, I can’t go.

i remembered last year’s, when i was staying in seoul for a student exchange program, i think the asian song festival happened nearly the same time as chuseok and my friend (who’s a rabid dbsk fan) wanted us to watch lest we couldn’t get tickets to the soul encore concert. we didn’t in the end because we’d gotten tickets for busan already, and i’m so glad for it because one of our friends went and told us that it was “the scariest thing ever” because the dbsk fans totally went crazy. they’d monopolized 3/4 of the venue even, i think.

I never am a fan of these events. It is great to watch the live performances, but usually the memory is more fun than the actual, cramped, annoying experience when you are there, lol
This is probably one of the dream concerts I would ever want to go to T T I’m Asia-obsessed o_o Plus, my fave groups are singing ^_^

Asian Song Festival Is Not truly asia, most of the mucisians are followers, Britney Spears Wannabe, Backstreet boys wannabe, and so on, and so on. Sooo out of date. can we just show to the world what the truly asian musics are?
Its been so long that asian people are “educated” by “visual orientation”, we must educate our ears,too. we need more skillful person in musics than just “catwalk models”.
i hope rivermaya does the country proud. they were sort of a BIG disappointment at every international event (starting from the ASIAN IDOL competition) ever since they had a new lead singer.
i just hope, though, that the korean fans of DBSK etc wouldn’t be as rude as they were before.. fighting with other fans, being very cold toward the foreign artists, and complaining out loud that they only stayed there for DBSK and the other korean boybands.
I have already got an invitation from there because many of my friends lived there. I am excited and desperate to be there.
Agnes Monica is the perfect choice to represent Indonesia. Her performance in Asian Idol by mixing the Indonesian culture (Dayak ethnic) in modern dance truly represented Asia, and particularly her home country.
