Enjoy summer at Caribbean Bay

It’s swimming season once more in Korea! Summer started early and we took advantage of KEB (Korea Exchange Bank) 10,000 won surprise early this month. We went to Caribbean Bay for a whole day of fun and spent less than 50,000 won for three people! Unbelievable but it’s possible.

Every month, KEB offers its card customers (credit and debit) 10,000 won tickets to theme parks, musicals and other events. Only one person per card can get the 10,000 won price. The venue or event changes every month. This month, it’s 10,000 won to Caribbean Bay.

We also went to Caribbean Bay last year and paid only 10,000 won per person.
I learned our lesson last year and we enjoyed Caribbean Bay so much more this year!
Upon entering, we bought “bay coins” worth 30,000 won each for me and my husband. My husband didn’t spend anything and was able to get a refund. I spent 10,800 won for two churros and a cup of cafe latte.

Last year, we used the indoor lockers and paid 2,000 won for the locker. This year, we used the outdoor locker and it was free. We just had to deposit 500 won for each locker. We got back the 500 won. Expenses for locker = 0

There weren’t a lot of people when we visited Caribbean Bay and I liked it that way. ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
I didn’t bring my swimsuit this time. Instead, I wore a sports shirt and shorts. I also couldn’t find my swimming cap so I just wore a baseball cap.
After the fact that I couldn’t get pictures last year, I bought a waterproof case for my phone and was able to take photos this time. We also brought our own tube, but it was unnecessary.
This year, I spent more time at the Adventure Pool, River Way, Indoor Wave Pool, Wild River Pool and Wave Pool. I would’ve love to try the slides but it’s not possible when you have a child who doesn’t want to wait half an hour in line.

The Boomerang Raft is one of the most popular rides in Caribbean Bay and it takes about an hour for the short ride.

My son’s favorite among all the attractions is the River Way. He just relaxed on the tube. I remember that we use that pool four times!

My husband enjoyed the Wave Pool the most. He borrowed my son’s life vest (!) so he could get to the restricted area that is only for those wearing a life vest. The wave reaches about 2.4 meters and swimmers ride the wave as if they were surfing.

Adults enjoy the humongous splash of water from the skull in the Adventure Pool. The water was a little cold that time though.

If you prefer to swim, then the Wild River Pool is perfect. There were only about 20-30 people when we used that pool, so much room to swim a lap.

Of course, there are lots of pools that are safe for kids… like the outdoor kiddie pool with mini slides.

There is also an indoor wave pool for kids.

So are you ready to enjoy summer in Caribbean Bay?
Just a few reminders…
What to bring:
– a swimsuit, swimming cap (baseball cap is fine)
– a life vest
– towel
You don’t need to bring toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are available at the shower room. At the powder room, you could find skin toner, emulsion and cotton buds.
If you prefer not to bring anything, then it’s also possible. You can rent a swimsuit and towel 😀
