No Smoking in Seoul

Most of the parks, open spaces, plazas and bus transfer centers are now “No Smoking” zones. Beginning this month, those who are caught smoking in these designated areas will be fined. It isn’t cheap – 100,000 Korean won! That’s about 92 USD or almost 4,000 pesos…

So if you’re a smoker, just try not to light up in any of these zones. Anyway, as doctors have been telling us – smoking is bad for our health. We wouldn’t want to use our SSDI benefits earlier than we need to, right?

  1. Wow! Just like here in Manila. They have started implementing the rule this June and it will be on full force this July. Even Starbucks will no longer have a smoking area. That’s how strict it has become.

    1. oh !thats is great ,and smoking is really dangerous to our health especially to the children ……i smiled when i saw the sign “strictly no smoking”

    1. I think that the Seoul city government is trying to keep the city green. People can still light up a smoke in designated areas.

  2. Can they also implement that on crosswalks? It didn’t bother me that much before but ever since I got pregnant, I really hate it when people smoke while crossing the street especially if they’re ahead of you.. I literally want to throw my shoes on them.. Blame it on the hormones.. Hehe šŸ™‚
