As mentioned in an earlier post, I was invited to judge (along with seven others) the contestants of a singing contest recently held in South Korea. The “Himig Pasko Tinig Pinoy” Christmas song festival was produced by PIKO – Pinoy Iskolars sa Korea.
There were 21 contestants but one of the performances that both the judges and the audience adored was that of a four year old Filipino-Korean (?) boy. He sang the OPM Christmas song “Sa Araw ng Pasko”. Oh, we heard that song several times during the night!
Here’s a clip of his performance that I took during the night. I really like the ending part wherein the “OFWs” were shown meeting their families and friends for the holidays. One can simply wish that Filipinos wouldn’t have to go abroad to earn a decent living for their families.
If you can’t see the video above, you can just watch it directly on Youtube – Sa Araw ng Pasko.
I know this boy his name is Danclride Buctot. His father, Danny and mother, Cathy, are both good singers as well. We go to the same church, the Filipino International Seventh-day Adventist Church in Korea (Filsdak), near Hoegi station. I’m so proud of him, I bet his parents are proud of him, too.
Oh, by the way…He is 100% filipino.
huhuhu…it made me cry because i miss spending Christmas with my family..this is the 2nd time i wont be spending it with them…Iba talaga ng pasko sa pinas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know this boy very well! He was born on October 30, 2007..2days before he was born, his dad called me to come to their house coz he said he doesn’t know what to doz coz his wife is having paiands I rushed going to their house with excitement thinking that this little boy will be born on my birthday, but when I came to their house his dad opened the door and to my surprised all friends were there singing a birthday song for me..David Dan Clride Buctot is a lovely and yet a crying little boy when he was a baby..He has a cute little brother who looked very innocent and seems to be a good singer too someday!
I declare peace and prosperity at this time of the year. Good job, boy!
