I’m soooo excited for this year’s Baeksang Awards! I live so near from Kyunghee University. The Baeksang Awards is held at the Peace Auditorium of the university. And I’ve been to two of their red carpet events. I just couldn’t go there last year for some reason I can’t remember.
2016 Baeksang Awards
This year’s Baeksang Awards is going to be on June 3rd, Friday. Among the stars expected to be there are the nominees for the Best TV Actor ~ which includes Song Joong Ki and Yoo Ah In. Now, I’ve seen Yoo Ah In in the flesh ~ during the theater tour of his movie “Wandeugi” (where Jasmine Lee plays his mom). The two were both in the Korean drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” ~ which is one of my favorite Korean dramas evahhhh~
Back in 2010, Song Joong Ki and Yoo Ah In won the Best Couple Award at the KBS Drama Awards. It was for their role in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” of course. Song Joong Ki was my favorite in that drama ~ but of course I enjoyed watching the whole cast.
My red carpet experience
The first time I joined the minions at the Red Carpet was in 2013. The awards night was held on May 9th and it rained! There were so many fans that when I arrived at the venue, I was far from the front row. I managed to inch my way near the railings and I got this shot of Yoo Chun…
There were other stars of course, but that was the only decent shot I was able to take. It was quite difficult to raise the camera when fans were elbowing each other out. Joo Won was there as well as Lee Min Ho ~ and you could read about that experience of my first red carpet.
The 2014 Baeksang Awards was more exciting for me. I got so near the red carpet and I was able to take passable photos. And oh boy, oh boy! There were so many of my favorites ~ from Jeon Ji Hyun, Kim Soo Hyun, Lee Min Ho and Lee Byung Hun! I never thought I’d see so them all at once ~ but I was thankful that Jang Dong Gun wasn’t there. If he was, I’d probably faint and wake up in the hospital.
Seeing Jeon Ji Hyun was like a dream ~ she is one of my most favorite Korean stars. She is actually my favorite female Korean star ~ from the days of My Sassy Girl. And yes, she is a goddess!
I believe that was the 3rd time I saw Lee Min Ho. And the closest I’d seen him. Still exciting but seeing Lee Byung Hun in the flesh ~ that was totally unexpected. Needless to say, LBH is also one of my top favorites. He is still my favorite Song Hye Gyo leading man 🙂 Can’t forget them in All In ~
So the 2016 Baeksang Awards is just a few weeks away. While it’s going to be on a Friday, I’m not sure if I will be able to get a break for the Red Carpet. I have work! I’m thinking of just dropping by the Peace Auditorium after the awards ~ I hope to see Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Gyo 🙂

What time do you need to be there for the red carpet? 🙂 Yung tipong nasa harap na harap ka? Hehe.
It’s not gonna be in Kyunghee this year but at the COEX Hall D, May 3 at 5pm.
