Korean drama in Cebu

I’ve read about it first from my friend’s e-mail then I saw a thread on it in PEx so I just have to look for the source. And here’s what I found in Ricky Lo’s column on the online version of the Philippine Star:

Did you know that a group of 60 stars and crew members of a top-rated Korean telenovela is now in Cebu shooting 16 episodes (good for one season), showcasing Cebu’s scenic/tourist spots? The group is billeted at Shangri-La Mactan.

I checked Daum and entered the words “Cebu” and “drama” in Korean and was able to confirm that there’s indeed a drama being shot in Cebu. The title is “Doraon Singeul” (Return Single) and it stars Kim Ji Ho and Kim Sung Min (or Kim Sung Taek). I’ve seen a couple of Kim Ji Ho’s drama on Arirang TV. She’s quite popular here in Korea and very visible with her television commercials (or CF). I hope that the TV drama will boost tourism not only in Cebu but in the whole Philippines as well. I remember that when Cha Tae Hyun’s drama about Bali was shown here last year, everybody wanted to go to that island. I also recollect my sister-in-law wanting to go there. So I hope that when the drama is shown here, it will make my husband’s family curious and excited about Cebu or the Philippines.
They started filming last May 15 and had a press conference yesterday, May 19. According to one source, they will be staying in Cebu for seven days so that means they might wrap up the filming this weekend.
