Have you voted for your favorite Asia Pacific movie of all time? The deadline for voting is until October 31 at 1800 GMT (November 1 at 3AM KST).
The nominees are:
- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (China)
- The Seven Samurai (Japan)
- Himala (Philippines)
- Gallipoli (Australia)
- Pather Panchali (India)
- Spirited Away (Japan)
- Infernal Affairs (Hongkong/China)
- Old Boy (South Korea)
- Chungking Express (China)
- Gabbeh (Iran)
I haven’t seen the movies from Iran, India and Australia. I’m proud to say that “Himala” is indeed a beautiful film that I had the pleasure of watching when I was a teenager. One of my favorite director though is Wong Kar Wai and of course, I love Chungking Express (and Tony Leung – who’s also in Infernal Affairs). I also immensely enjoyed the other others movies on the list, including The Seven Samurai, that it’s really difficult to just pick one. It would’ve been easier if another Wong Kar Wai film is there š
I did not vote because I love Wong Kar Wai (and Tony Leung Chi Wai) as much as I love Hayao Miyazaki (and his Studio Ghibli).
Do you mean the Wong Kar Wai film with the beautiful cheongsams on our beloved Maggie Cheung? š

I’ve only seen Spirited Away, Crouching Tiger, and Old Boy. I’ll try to find the rest and watch ’em.

My vote is for Old Boy. Actually it’s the only one in the list that I’ve seen :-p, but definetely one of the best asian films I watched.
“Himala” from the Philippines won. Rejoice:-)
