Typhoon Kompasu

The strong winds brought by typhoon Kompasu woke me up at 5 o’clock in the morning. I tried to go back to sleep in vain and now I have a headache. This is the seventh typhoon of the year and unlike the others that came before it, this one will pass through the middle of the country. At around seven o’clock in the morning, the apartment management announced to secure veranda doors with ropes that are available at the basement car park. The winds made our glass veranda doors rattle continuously. I haven’t experienced this kind of typhoon since typhoon Memi in 2003.
Subway lines 1 and 4 were closed early in the morning but they reopened at around eight o’clock. On TV, damages caused by the typhoon were shown including those taken by CCTVs covered with convex mirrors. Elementary and middle schools will open late at 11 o’clock. Yup, despite the strong winds and the expected heavy rains schools are still open.
