We’ve applied for the I-sarang card (daycare subsidy program) twice in the past. The first time was three years ago when my son first went to daycare (and we had to pay 380,000 won a month) and the second time was last year. We were denied the benefit at both times.
In September 2010, President Lee Myung Bak signed an order that grants totally free day care and kindergarten to children of multicultural families (one parent is Korean and the other is a foreigner). This grant is effective from March 1, 2011.
I went to our local civil service office (“dong” samuso) yesterday and brought home the application form. On Monday, I will present our identification cards and a bank account. Hopefully, we could get this benefit that is intended to support multicultural families. What we could save on my son’s daycare, I could spend for other things like the piano lessons that’s he’s been asking for or for his Lego hobby or even to pay for the cheapest auto insurance for our “cheap” auto.
galing pa lang ako dong samuso kahapon because of this “free daycare” kso pnpblik pa ako 2nd or 3rd week of march to register
Iba-iba schedule nila? Kasi yung kakilala kong Vietnamese noon pang first week ng February nag-apply.
