More Filipinos on Korean media

Maui Taylor is going to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. She plays the part of a Filipina housemaid in the movie “Taste of Money” directed by Im Sang soo. Aside from her, there are other Filipinos in the film. The movie was also partly shot in Cebu last year. It is opening in Cannes on May 16th. In Korea, it’s showing on May 17th with a VIP premiere on May 15th.
Last April 22nd, KBS Drama Special on KBS2 started airing a four-part drama series called “국회의원 정치성 실종사건” (Disappearance of Parliamentarian Jung Chi Sung) starring Yoo Oh-Seong. He is a famous actor in Korea and one of my favorites, too. The drama airs on Sundays at 11:30 PM on KBS2. Donnabel Casipong, a Filipina immigrant, is part of the drama series.

On May 8th, Parents’ Day, the KBS television show “Love in Asia” will feature another Filipina, Razel Kim. I’ve known her since 2004 and we’re still friends to this date. She is one of the most generous people I know. I don’t know what her “Love in Asia” story is all about but I think it’s worth watching. I’m pretty sure the audience would learn a thing or two about life in Korea.
