Holidays in Korea for the year 2013

Here’s another one of the calendars we have at home…

Infinity Challenge calendar

It is the “Infinity Challenge” aka “Muhan Dojeon” calendar. It’s one of Korea’s most popular television shows. My son received the calendar from his taekwondo teacher.
We only have ten holidays falling during the weekdays. Even Children’s Day is on a Sunday!
Here are the holidays that fall on weekdays:
February 9, 10 and 11 – Seollal or Lunar New Year
May 17 – Buddha’s Birthday
June 6 – Memorial Day
August 15 – Independence Day
September 18, 19 and 20 – Chuseok
October 3 – Foundation Day
October 9 – Hangeul Day
December 25 – Christmas
Take note that the Korean Embassy in the Philippines and the Philippine Embassy in Korea observe the holidays.
