The Men’s short program began at 12 midnight of February 14 in the peninsula. Michael Martinez skated fifth at around 12:35 AM to the theme of Romeo and Juliet. Perfect for Valentine’s, isn’t it? The Korean commentators exclaimed “Whoa!” after he performed. He scored a total of 64.81 with no deductions, an improvement of his season’s best of 64.03. That score is enough for Michael Martinez to qualify for the free skate program, where only the top 25 finishers will compete.
