Pnoy to visit Korea for ASEAN-ROK summit

I remember when Philippine president Noynoy Aquino visited Korea last year, so many Filipinos in Korea wanted to see him that they scrambled to ask for invites to the event held at Lotte Hotel in Myeongdong. It was the first time that Pnoy visited Korea. During that visit, he granted the “Order of Lakandula” award to Jasmine Lee.

This year, the Philippine president will once again come to Korea for the ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit which will be held on December 11th and 12th in the southern city of Busan. ASEAN stands for Association of Southeast Asian Nations and includes the Philippines as one of its members. The other member countries are Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. The last ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit was held in Jeju-do in 2009 and was attended by then President Gloria Arroyo.
Will Pnoy meet the Filipino community in South Korea when he visits the country this year? Let’s wait for an announcement 😀
