53rd Baeksang Awards

From 2011 to 2016, the Baeksang Awards was held at Kyunghee University’s Peace Auditorium. Since we moved to our current residence in 2011, I had the chance to wait for the arrival of the Korean stars at the red carpet. In 2013, I was able to see Yoo Chun, Lee Min Ho, Kim Woo Bin and Kim Bum.

In 2014, I saw even more stars as I squeezed among throng of fans to the front of the barrier for a better view. Gosh I couldn’t believe I would see Jeon Ji Hyun, Kim Soo Hyun, Lee Byung Hun, Lee Min Ho (for the 3rd time!), Lee Jung Jae and so many others that I didn’t even recognize.
In 2016, I wasn’t able to be at the red carpet because of work but Song Hye Gyo and Song Joong Gi attended the event. As far as I know, the security was stricter last year due to the popularity of the two stars who led the mega hit drama “Descendants of the Sun”.
Knowing that the Baeksang Awards is held in May, I checked the schedule this week and lo and behold! It is scheduled to be held earlier and at a different venue. The 53rd Baeksang Awards is going to be held at COEX Hall D on May 3rd at 5pm. The red carpet will start earlier at 3:30pm ~ tickets for the show are mostly available from third-party sellers. So I guess I’m just going to try to be at the red carpet again.
