I pay for my own webhost. I tried my blog first on a free bloghost years ago but I didn’t like the restrictions set by the host. I decided then to try a paid webhosting service. That was a really good decision. It helped that I had some experience with servers when I was working as an assistant to a systems administrator back when I was in college (12 years ago?), although my major was not in computing.
I have several blogger friends who are interested in transferring to paid webhosting for the same reason I had before. For those who are interested but don’t know where to go or what to do first, then it pays to consult a (free) geek like Webhosting Geeks. The site showcases web hosting reviews and ratings. It’s always helpful to read what others have to say about a service, right? (And for some reason, I always look for the negative reviews first)
For personal use, should one look for a budget hosting or blog hosting? There seems to be no difference in the offers but just to be sure, I’ll go for budget hosting. It isn’t that difficult to install WordPress (IMO the best blogging software) and most hosts have a software installation program so it’s easier than ever to install open source programs.
Ate, just a quicky question. How do you pay for webhosting? Through paypal?
