The Filipina named ‘Nicole’ who cried rape had victimized the women’s groups and Filipino citizens who rallied beside her. She claimed to have been raped by US soldier Daniel Smith while she was having a ‘good time’ in Subic three years ago but has recanted her story. She’s now in the USA.

grabeh! even though, i am a woman, i have always been skeptical about her story… i didn’t feel any sympathy for her when her story was all over the frontpage of newspapers back in the phils.

i second emotion, wendy! it has been almost 4 years after this issue was publicized. but there were lots of speculation, even journalits like Ted Failon and Korina Sanchez doubted her, in their radio program sa DZMM. grabe pa nga yung sinabi ni Failon, baka daw “bayarang babae” at di nabayaran ng tama kaya nagdedemanda.
now that she’s turned her back on her lawyers, madaming nagalit sa kanya and most of them thought na tama nga yung hinala nila. and now, she’s even saying na she’s NOT SURE if she was raped or not, baka daw nadala lang emotions. now what will happen to Daniel Smith? i’m not siding on him or what, but i pity the man, he’s lost 3 years of his life, because of what this “Nicole” is saying right now. may God bless her…

Having been fueled with socialist-feminist hootenannies, what can Daniel Smith expect? I pity the guy.
But you can still think of the case in two (or more) ways:
1) that Nicole was paid [by the US?] to retract her sworn testimony so that DS can go out of jail, the veracity of NC’s original statement notwithstanding. 3 years pales in comparison with life imprisonment given that he indeed raped Nicole. This is the best exit point for DS.
2) that Nicole is a certified veatch who deserves to be veatch-ified. She ruined DS’s life. I hope there’s danyos for this.

apparently, this news is interrelated in one way or another to an earlier post of a “filipina stabbed by a US soldier”…as they say, “there are two sides of every coin” and most often than not, what we see is a bogus one(depending on which “homecourt” you’re in) thus our judgement is marred which can eventually make an eternal repercussion to someone else’s life…i surmised that the tinkle of a penny, a dime, a nickel or a quarter isnt gratifying enough compared to the “crispy-feel” of a dollar bill(s)…money has always been a snare…

I read from the news that nicole received P100,000 for moral and exemplary damages. Her statement was submitted to the Court of Appeals by Smith’s lawyers. Her(fired)lawyer said that the contents of the sworn statement doesn’t sound like it came from nicole.
Still, there’s something fishy about that girl (as always!)

Btw, i agree with your point. Our political system sucks. But other than that, what you are saying are just mere opinions (yours). So its no better than the biases posted above. Like what most people, you also dont know what really happened, and that makes you in no position to criticize others biases. i read the article in the newspaper and it made me so mad . she’s shameless… if she really wants to stay in the u.s. fine , but to recant her earlier statement about having doubts about the “rape”, come on…how about her witnesses during the trial ?kawawa naman ang mga taong ito they put their jobs and their life in line for the sake of truth . SHE betrayed not only the people involved but all of US.
