I was making a reservation the other night for a tour of CheongWaDae (or the Blue House – presidential palace) on the 26th for four visitors who would be coming from the Philippines. Since I could read Hangeul, I logged on to the Korean version of the site but I totally ignored and closed the pop-up. I was able to reserve five slots on the 26th, but there was no space where I could enter the names of the visitors. I thought of calling a call center but instead I tried entering the name of my husband and my parents-in-law and it worked.

I opened the website again (in IE 8 and to the English version) to read the pop-up and got the message that “CheongWaDae tours are temporarily closed”. Foreigners and children (Korean) are not allowed to join the tours from September 1st. The reason is because of the fear of H1N1 flu. I informed my guests and of course, they were disappointed.
That’s too bad. I guess they were taking every bit of precautionary measures possible to prevent the spread of swine flu. We were supposed to go to Everland this Saturday but my husband canceled for the same reason.
