Yesterday, Korean netizens were abuzz about the filming locations in Seoul of Avengers 2. The Seoul City government, Marvel executives and actress Kim Soo Hyun were at the Seoul Press Center for the memorandum of agreement on the filming of the movie. The Seoul City government released earlier a list of roads that will be closed during the filming.
As early as this week, the city government have put up signs like this one on Mapo Bridge to notify travellers. Mapo Avenue is one busy road on an ordinary day (and especially Saturdays) and it might also be busy on a Sunday when the film crew will be there.
Avengers 2 will be shot in Seoul from March 30th to April 14th. RP-HXD Entertainment, a production company, has started recruiting 120 “extras” who will join the filming in Mapo Bridge. Other locations are Gangnam Avenue, Seoul World Cup, Cheongdam Bridge, Floating Islands, Mullae-dong and Kaywon School of Art and Design (aka K-SAD, which is not actually in Seoul).
If you’re ever in Seoul during the two week filming, you might want to drop by and who knows you might just spot your favorite Marvel superhero.

Oooh that floating island looks AMAZING!! It’s not a surprise that the Avengers had chosen that as a shooting location. I am sure that they can make some pretty cool scenes with that.
