A typical Korean breakfast consists of rice, soup and side dishes BUT my husband usually only have 5 minutes for breakfast before he heads to work. And while he’s preparing for work, I prepare his breakfast ~ Korean toast sandwich and apple yogurt smoothie.
I love the Korean-style toast sandwich that is available at street food stalls. My favorite and the best one I had is the one outside Sindorim Station. I used to eat toast there before I go home from work. An order is 2,000 won ~
My husband prefers that I make his Korean toast sandwich because he doesn’t like margarine and sugar on his sandwich.
Here are the very simple ingredients:
2 slices of bread
1 egg
carrot, julienne
onion, chopped
cabbage, shredded
salt and pepper
butter
mayonnaise and ketchup
First, cut the veggies (carrot, onion, cabbage). Beat the egg and add the veggies. Add salt and pepper if desired.
Heat a non-stick frying pan and spread a small pat of butter. Fry the egg with the veggies. Turn.
Toast the bread on the pan, add some butter as desired. Arrange the egg patty. Spread mayonnaise and ketchup.
If you want, you could also use barbecue sauce or pork cutlet sauce instead of the ketchup. You could also sprinkle sugar on the toast before serving.
Wow that recipe is super easy. It is almost as simple as frying an egg, right? I’ll try it later and show you how it turned out. This is exciting. I just don’t know if I can show you though.
