This is the latest posting from the Korea Post about the discounted EMS and remittance for multicultural families. Korea Post has been extending this service since September 2010 for multicultural families to ensure a faster, safer and cheaper way of sending items to the countries of multicultural families.

Discounted EMS service
Qualification and requirements:
– If you’re married to Korean with F6-1, F6-2 and F6-3 visa, present your ARC or Alien Registration Card.
– If you’re a Korean citizen, present your Korean ID and a Family History Certificate (가족관계ì¦ëª…ì„œ) or Basic History Certificate (기본ì¦ëª…ì„œ)

Discounted Remittance Service
Benefits:
– 30% ~ 50% cheaper than bank remittance
– available at over 2,700 Korea Post offices nationwide
Required:
– receiver’s bank account information
– receiver’s bank name
– receiver’s English name
– receiver’s English address
Available services:
Eurogiro Remittance
– to Japan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam
– maximum amount of remittance: 2,000 USD
– charge: 8,000 won (or 5,000 won by ATM/internet)
SWIFT Bank Remittance
– available to all countries
– transfer limit: maximum of 50,000 USD per year
– charge: 10,000 won (or 5,000 won by ATM/internet)
