Filipino EPS worker almost lost bag with 1.4 million won

A Filipino EPS worker almost lost bag with 1.4 million won and his cellphone. On September 14th, one Filipino forgot his bag inside a subway train while he got off at Danggogae station on line 4. He reported it to the customer service and asked to help him find the bag. Raymond informed them that he has his money and cellphone in it.

An old man named Im Yong Gyu found a bag and was looking for its owner. Fortunately, he heard a phone rang inside a bag. He picked it up and answered. The 71-year old grandfather was happy to return the bag to Raymond, who intended to send the money to his parents in the Philippines.
In his broken Korean, Raymond thanked Mr. Im Yong Gyu for finding the bag. He has something to celebrate on Korea’s thanksgiving holiday.
In Korea, it is not really news when someone finds something and returns it to the owner. This is only “news” because it 1) it involves a foreigner 2) it makes a warm thanksgiving story and 3) there really is nothing newsworthy during the holidays aside from the heavy volume of vehicles travelling to the provinces.
We are just glad that Raymond found his bag with all his money in it. He worked hard for it so he could help his family back home.
