Summary of New EPS-TOPIK 2017

The Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOEL) and the Human Resources Development (HRD) of Korea released a 24-page guideline for the new EPS-TOPIK 2017. Unlike the previous EPS-TOPIK, the new system is point-based and it will include evaluation of physical condition, skills and competency. Here is the summary of the memo ~

1st Point System EPS-TOPIK 2017

The new system for the recruitment of foreign workers to Korea will include an examination of the Korean language competency as well as the physical condition, skills, training and experience of the applicant. There will be two rounds of test: Korean language and the passers could go to the second round which is skills and competency test.

Qualifications

â‘  Person aged between 18 and 38(Person born between Feb 1, 1978 ~ Jan 31, 1999)
â‘¡ Person who has not been convicted of imprisonment or heavier punishment (NO CRIMINAL RECORD)
â‘¢ Person who have no record of deportation or departure orders from the Republic of
Korea (NO RECORD OF OVERSTAYING IN KOREA)
â‘£ Person who is not restricted from departure of home country
⑤ Person who has no color blindness and color weakness
â‘¥ Person who has no physical handicaps such as the slipped disc or finger amputation

Registration

Registration Period (4 DAYS): 31 January (Tues) ~ 3 February (Fri)
ï‚™ Period:
January 31-1-2 – February 3 – Male Applicants
February 3 – Male and Female Applicants may register
(However, Male Applicants are preferred due to the nature of work)
Presently, POEA has 2,000 Female Jobseekers in the roster.
Allowed registrants per day: 7,500 or a maximum of 30,000 for four (4) days
ï‚™ Time: From 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Method of Registration

  1. Create an EPS-TOPIK Registration Account (http://www.epspoea.net)
  2. Check the email you provided
  3. Click the link to activate your account in your email
  4. Complete the registration form and then click “Submit”
  5. Your application is now for evaluation. Please check your email for
    the status of your registration.
  6. Login to your EPS-TOPIK Registration Account. If your registration
    has been approved, click “proceed to payment”.
  7. Type the required information in the payment form
  8. Wait for payment confirmation. Message, “You are now registered”
  9. Print your test permit on the scheduled date.

Required Documents

  1. Passport (validity should not be earlier than January 2018)
  2. Clear copy of scanned passport
  3. Clear recent colored ID picture with dark blue background and name tag: (Last Name, First Name, Middle Initial, Suffix in capital letters), size: 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm
  4. Test fee: 24 USD (Php _1,196)

Two rounds of Test

There will be two rounds of test. The first round is the EPS-TOPIK. The total score is 100 points and the test is in multiple choice, reading and listening. Passers should at least get 40 points, but it will be based on the expected total number of passers by about 200%. It is not fixed and it will be adjusted based on the expected number.

Only the first round passers will be allowed to take the second round. It will consist of skills test (mandatory) and competency test (optional).

Skills Test for EPS-TOPIK 2017

The competency test is optional. It is for those who have previous work experience in manufacturing, as well as those possessing certificates of competency or training courses in their chosen industry. (If the applicant has no work experience or training, then he or she is not required to submit documents for the competency test.)

Applicants will be chosen based on their points:

Disqualification:
1. Color blindness, color weakness, physical handicap (slipped disc, finger amputation)
2. Possession of digital device during examination
3. Dishonesty (cheating during the exam, submitting false documents)
4. Inconsistency between the passport and application form
5. Omission or modification in the submitted documents
6. History of tuberculosis (applicants must be medically fit)
Remember that:
â—ˆ The person who successfully got in will get a chance to be listed on the valid roster but this does not guarantee their employment.
◈ If one can’t get through health checkup or has any records of illegal stay, he/she will be deprived of any chance for employment

        1. Hi Dennis! Usually sa late January/February ang registration at March/April ang test. Pino-post ng POEA ang announcement every year.

          5. Hi! Wala pong problema kung Muslim. Yung isang friend ko po Muslim din siya at nanggaling siya dito last year. Tungkol sa registration, usually Jan-Feb po.

  3. Miss Betchay good day. Doon sa POEA account ko Status of application nakalagay Registered pero wala pong prompt na nag aask ng payment. Paano po kayo iyon? At yung 2nd question is… sa 2nd Test, may idea po ba kayo kung ano ang gagawin sa Strength Test at Interview? HR KORea ba ang mag iintrview at sa Korean po ba?

    1. Hi Jayson! Kailangan po kasi ang passport sa araw mismo ng registration. Ang next batch po will be in 2018. Once a year lang po ang EPS-TOPIK sa mga baguhan.

    1. Hi Rex! Bagong regulation kasi. Yes, pwede ka makapasa sa test pero sa physical baka hindi.

    1. Hi Joyce! Once lang ang exam para sa mga baguhan. Usually yung October ay para sa mga natapos ang kontrata na gustong bumalik.

Kung ndi po ba makakaalis ngaung taon pde pa ba mapabilang sa next roster basta nakapasa ka dito? Thank u po

    1. Ibig sabihin kung nakapasa sa test ilalagay ang pangalan sa pwedeng pagpilian ng mga employer. Hindi porket nakapasa sa test ay guarantee na magkakapagtrabaho sa Korea.

    1. Once a year lang po ang registration. Usually 4 days ang registration so dapat within that time makapagpa-register.

  32. Sabi ng friend ko nag stop na daw ang poea last august 2017 last na pinadal is sa September 2017.. Is it true? So paano na yung mga nag review para 2018?
